What does it involve?
It's great fun, great exercise and takes you into a unique world, where few people go. Set in the Yorkshire Dales, Events Together singles caving weekends and holidays can be enjoyed by anyone reasonably fit. Contrary to what some may think, caving doesn't necessarily have to involve spending all day squeezing through very small gaps either! Singles caving activity weekends with Events Together are suitable for beginner's introductory experiences as well as great fun even if you've been underground before.
You might have heard of ‘potholing’ too. Both Caving and Potholing are underground sports and involve exploring the naturally-occurring gaps and formations in limestone caused by the action or water moving through and eroding the rock.
Caving generally refers to moving through a cave system without the need to use ropes. Potholing includes descending and ascending vertical sections of a cave system (pothole) using ropes and descending/ascending devices. Age Range Info
