Mountain Bike Picture 3

What’s involved?

Events Together Singles Mountain Biking weekends will give you the opportunity to explore some of the best trails in the UK from the scenic to the technical. We won't be aiming for tricks or stunts but won't stop you if you want to pull them!

The aim is for everyone to have a lot of fun and exercise body, soul and social skills!

The Group

Events Together Singles Mountain Biking weekends will involve you being part of a group of up to 16 people who will get as much fun out of being together as a group as being on the trail! We will aim to show you a variation of grades, scenic routes and introduction to technical riding (for the less experienced in the group) A very important part of the experience is to work together as a team. The aim isn't to cater soley for the preferences of either the very experienced or the novice riders. The main things is to enjoy the social aspect of the event.

Above all you’ll be in great company and have a great time - together!

Equipment and Clothing

During Events Together Singles Mountain Biking weekends all the bikes and helmets will be provided by Events Together's activity partners, but typically the following kit is recommended for biking:

  • Cycling pants/shorts (padded) - we really do recommend you purchase a pair -seriously!
  • Eye protection - sunglasses are normally fine
  • Gloves - cycling gloves recommended but a lightweight pair of gloves is fine
  • thermal underwear base-layers - bike shirts have a long tail on them
  • lightweight rainproof (pertex is good) jacket
  • A good pair of trainers or approach/cross training shoes with a good grippy sole - bike shoes if you've got them of course (SPD not necessary)
  • spare change of clothes
  • a couple of polythene shopping bags is a good idea too in case the trails are muddy
  • If you have your own bike and you wish to use it, please note we cannot take responsibility for transporting it to the day's route. If you want to bring it on your own vehicle though, that's not a problem.
Please check the final details you will be sent for the specific event weekend you have chosen, as there may be additional or recommended items to bring for a particular activity.
